Preserving Ghanaian Women's History
Through Archival Work

Through Archival Work

Korabea represents a vital initiative in cultural preservation, focusing specifically on the often-overlooked contributions of Ghanaian women throughout history. Our organization operates as both a digital archive and multimedia platform, ensuring that the stories, achievements, and experiences of African women are documented, celebrated, and made accessible to future generations.
Founded by Danielle Kwateng and Maame Adjei in 2024, Korabea employs multiple methodologies in our archival work. We engage in oral history documentation, visual culture analysis, and community-based research. Our projects span from intimate podcast conversations to comprehensive fashion exhibitions, each designed to illuminate different aspects of Ghanaian women's experiences and contributions.
We believe that Ghanaian women's history is a legacy worth safeguarding. By preserving the stories, artistry, and lived experiences of these women, we ensure that future generations have a well of truth, pride, and inspiration to draw from — a lineage that strengthens identity and shapes what's possible. We believe that when their histories are protected and uplifted, the path forward becomes clearer for every generation that follows.
